We Are Medics believes the most important element of any medicine application is making smart and strategic application choices. The same candidate, with the same stats, could stand hugely different chances of an interview at different medical schools. This is because each medical school uses the application data in a different way, and scores candidates using a different method.
Making use of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests is one of the best ways to make strategic application choices. Learn more about FOIAs here.
What Do They Know is an amazing website which makes submitting FOIA requests easy and hassle free. They also openly store all previous FOIA requests submitted through their site, so anyone can read and make use of them!
Unfortunately, it can be a bit complicated to correctly locate the information you want, or find an FOIA request that is relevant to you. That’s why we have done the hard work for you!
Through Appli-can, we have collated ALL the FOIA requests related to Medicine that have been requested since January 2018. That’s right - undergraduate entry, graduate entry, widening participation programmes, international entry and more! We have also tagged each FOIA request by the information contained and given each a ‘usefulness rating’. All you need to do is enter the medical schools you are considering in our Appli-can search box, find the information that is relevant to you, and then leverage it for your strategic applications.
The We Are Medics has grown a supportive, inspirational and enthusiastic community of followers, and we wanted to include you all in this new project too! So, for every FOIA request there is a comments box, where you can summarise the key information for other users to easily find and read. Think of it as kind of like a Wikipedia, but for strategic medicine application help. As these summaries are user-generated, we always advise you to check the original source to confirm it is correct - but hopefully these user summaries will help you navigate this information even more easily!
If this information is useful to you, we would be extremely grateful if you would consider donating to us, so that we can continue to produce free, game-changing medical application resources. You can learn more about how we use donations here.
Please suggest it below and we will add it to our list!

4 = information which is less recent (usually from 2018 entry or prior) but which encompasses useful data on UCAT, GCSE, BMAT, etc. cut offs that applicants can use to work out whether they are likely to be interviewed.
3 = good quality, useful information, but not as universally relevant as the cut offs or averages which achieve a 4 or 5 star rating.
2 = niche information which only applies to a minority of applicants - this may be relevant only to international applicants or graduate applicants for example.
1 = application statistics such as the number of applicants, interviews and offers, but without any further useful information.
